Job summary

Sonoco in Jefferson, TX is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Electrical Maintenance Technician to support maximum plant reliability. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot PLCs, and ensure safety and adherence to standards.

Responsibilities include electrical and mechanical repair, root-cause analysis, welding, and CMMS documentation while collaborating with operations to minimize unplanned downtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or vocational focus is required.
• Preferred associate degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or related field.
• IMRT levels indicate progressing experience (Level 1–Sr).

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
• Troubleshoot failures and conduct root-cause analysis to minimize repeats.
• Install, repair, and modify electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and steam systems as needed.
• Troubleshoot PLC programs and, when required, modify/write programs.
• Weld and machine fabricate components; maintain CMMS entries for all work.
• Collaborate with operations to resolve abnormal equipment conditions affecting safety and productivity.
