Job summary

Sonoco Products Co. in Union, SC is hiring an Industrial Maintenance Reliability Technician I. The role concentrates on proactive maintenance to ensure quality and timely shipment, with a training start in 1st shift before moving to 3rd shift.

You’ll install, repair, and optimize utility and facility equipment under the Plant Engineer, working overtime and weekends as needed. The job emphasizes safety, teamwork, and a hands-on approach, with opportunities to train others and lead small upgrade

Qualifications

• Experience in an industrial environment or military experience troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining manufacturing equipment.
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting, industrial and motor controls preferred.
• Comfortable with mechanical lifts, ladders, kneeling, bending and twisting; lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain auxiliary equipment as required by production.
• Maintain and repair utility and facility-related equipment as directed by the Plant Engineer.
• Assist/train other maintenance personnel with repairs, PMs, and rebuilds.
• Collaborate with other departments for proactive problem resolutions.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area.
• Manage small projects to maintain or upgrade equipment.
• Perform all duties in support of quality and safety policies.
