Job summary
Valmont Industries in Farmington, MN, is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform a range of industrial maintenance tasks in a fast-paced facility. The role covers mechanical, electrical, welding, and plumbing duties to keep production running smoothly.
The ideal candidate brings at least 3 years of industrial maintenance experience, strong reading of schematics and blueprints, and hands-on welding, machining, and pipefitting skills.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 3 years work experience in industrial maintenance
- Strong working knowledge of single and three phase electrical circuitry
- Ability to read electrical schematics
- Experience performing all position arc and wire feed welding on steel and aluminum
- Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, water and natural gas plumbing
- A degree in Industrial Maintenance or equivalent
Responsibilities
- Seek opportunities for efficiencies and improvements within the maintenance department
- Perform maintenance tasks according to production needs to minimize downtime
- Perform maintenance operations using tools and equipment of several trades (carpentry, electrical, plumbing, electronics, machinist welding)
- Perform routine and scheduled maintenance procedures
- Install and align new equipment; diagnose, dismantle, repair, reassemble and adjust machinery
