Job summary

Mid Valley Disposal is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Mechanic for MRF and Compost Operations in Fresno, CA. The role focuses on keeping conveyors, grinders, balers, and related equipment running safely and with minimal downtime.

You will perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot systems, and document activities. The position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor, MRF/Compost Operations, with emphasis on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to read manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Commitment to safety and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment such as conveyors, grinders, balers, compactors.
• Respond to urgent repair needs and support emergency maintenance.
• Complete daily work orders and document maintenance activities.
• Follow safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures.
• Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications.
• Maintain tools, parts, and work areas in clean, safe condition.
• Support facility maintenance like lighting and plumbing.
• Communicate issues and parts needs to Maintenance Supervisor.
