Job summary

Mid Valley Disposal in Fresno, CA is seeking a dependable Heavy Equipment Operator to support our Material Recovery Facility and compost operations. The role involves operating heavy machinery, ensuring safe material flow, and maintaining production standards.

You will perform daily inspections, assist with site duties, and coordinate with supervisors and maintenance staff. A high school diploma or GED and at least one year of heavy equipment experience are preferred; recycling/waste experience

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment.
• Experience in recycling, waste, or solid waste operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate front-end loaders and other heavy equipment.
• Move, load, sort, and transport recyclable and waste materials.
• Maintain material flow to conveyors and processing areas.
• Complete daily equipment inspections and report mechanical issues.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas.
• Identify and report unsafe conditions, contamination, or prohibited materials.
• Follow OSHA and company safety procedures at all times.
• Work closely with supervisors, spotters, maintenance staff, and team members.
• Assist with site cleanup and additional facility duties as needed.

Mid Valley Disposal is looking for a dependable and safety-focused Heavy Equipment Operator to support operations at our Material Recovery Facility (MRF) and Compost Operations site. What You’ll Do

• Safely operate front-end loaders and other heavy equipment
