Job summary

Primetals Technologies USA, LLC in Huger, SC is seeking a 1st shift Mechanic to perform in-house and customer-site preventive maintenance on production machinery, read drawings and instrument readings, and support equipment reliability.

Candidates must have a valid driver?s license and prior industrial/mechanical maintenance experience; a pre-employment exam applies; base pay depends on skill and experience; full benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Current, valid driver license.
• Ability to read and interpret measuring instruments.
• Preferred candidates will possess previous industrial/mechanical maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance on production machines.
• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, hand and power tools.
• Determines changes in dimensional requirements and adjusts parts using calipers, micrometers and other measuring tools.
• Controls downtime through routine preventive maintenance techniques.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by following procedures and regulations.
