Job summary

Primetals Technologies USA is seeking a 2nd shift Mechanic in Blytheville, AR. The role involves performing preventive maintenance on production machines and diagnosing mechanical issues at in-house and customer sites.

Applicants must pass a pre-employment physical exam and drug screen. Location includes travel to customer locations across the U.S. and may require overnight stays. Prior industrial maintenance experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on production machines per diagrams, manuals and specs.
• Identify and diagnose problems by observing machinery and using precision instruments.
• Remove defective parts with hoists, cranes and hand/power tools.
• Check dimensional changes with calipers, micrometers and other measuring devices and adjust parts.
• Maintain safe and clean work environment in compliance with procedures and regulations.
• Travel to customer sites as needed, occasional overnight.

Our Blytheville, AR facility is currently seeking to fill a 2nd shift Mechanic position.

Applicants must pass a pre-employment physical exam and drug screen.

Classification and base pay rate will be dependent upon skillset and prior experience. Duties of the mechanic will be performed in-house and on location at customer site.

• Preferred candidates will possess previous industrial/mechanical maintenance experience

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices, using hoists, cranes, hand and power tools.
• Determines changes in dimensional requirements and adjusts functional parts of equipment by inspecting used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
• Controls downtime through use of effective routine preventive maintenance techniques.
• Conserve’s maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently to accomplish job results.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Work is conducted within the Primetals work location and at customer locations across the U.S.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Travel to customer locations required, occasionally requiring overnight stay.
