Job summary

Pilgrim is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join the on-site team in Sumter, SC. This role involves hands-on maintenance, repair, and testing of mechanical equipment and components to keep production running smoothly.

Ideal candidates will have 1–2 years of industrial maintenance experience, the ability to read and interpret drawings, and basic math skills. GED or high school diploma required, technical school preferred; some weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical school preferred.
• 1–2 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings.
• Basic knowledge of standard and metric measures.

Responsibilities

• Construct, maintain and test mechanical equipment, machinery and components.
• Identify parts or machines needing new or replacement parts.
• Utilize shop mathematics to complete assignments.
• Interpret drawings of equipment in order to properly adjust, maintain or repair machinery.
• Respond to requests by production area when mechanical issues with equipment have been identified.
• Communicate with production management and personnel to diagnose problems and determine potential mechanical problems.
• Perform preventive maintenance.
• Complete assigned tasks with accuracy and efficiency, in regards to time as well as resources.
