Job summary

Bakelite in Louisville, KY is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform mechanical maintenance on plant equipment, install, configure, troubleshoot, fabricate, and document repairs. You will support safety, environmental, and production programs and enter work in SAP.

This role shapes the future by advancing equipment reliability and process efficiency. Daily work includes PM inspections, root-cause analysis participation, and collaboration with operations and engineering to optimize plant

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 3 years of experience maintaining mechanical components and troubleshooting.
• Experience in manufacturing or military environments preferred.
• Ability to read standard blueprints and process drawings (P&ID, PFD, Isometrics).
• Welding ability (GTAW, GMAW, SMAW) is desired; TWIC card required or able to obtain.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work in confined spaces and at height.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, schedule, and complete work orders and PM inspections with operations and teams.
• Identify failure mechanisms and analyze operating conditions to maximize efficiency and equipment life.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on plant process equipment.
• Enter data into the SAP maintenance system to document repairs.
• Support RCA and PSM activities and environmental/safety program initiatives.
• Maintain inventory and interface with vendors for parts and supplies.
• Develop and maintain equipment files and essential spare parts inventory.
