Job summary

Bakelite is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment in Louisville, KY. You will coordinate work with operations, document repairs in SAP, and support safety and environmental programs.

The role requires reading blueprints, troubleshooting mechanical systems, and adapting to on-call rotations. Welding skills and TWIC card are a plus; standard safety procedures apply daily.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years in mechanical maintenance/repair in manufacturing or military environments.
• Experience with mechanical troubleshooting (valves, motors, pumps).
• Ability to read standard blueprints, P&IDs, PFDs and Isometrics.
• Welding ability is a plus; TWIC card required or able to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, schedule, and complete work orders and PM inspections with operations and contractors.
• Identify and analyze mechanical failure mechanisms to maximize efficiency and equipment life.
• Document repairs and inputs into SAP maintenance system.
• Act as SME for RCA and process safety management efforts.
• Support environmental and safety programs and maintain equipment files.
