UPS Supply Chain Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic or Industrial Electrician in Dallas, TX to support the package sorting system and conveyors.

The role offers full-time permanent employment, with a likely third shift, and requires hands-on maintenance experience with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Responsibilities include inspecting and repairing components, wiring and PLC work, welding, and preventive maintenance.

Responsabilidades

• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair and/or replace mechanical components such as motors, reducers, drive chains, sprockets, belts, bearings, rollers, and transfer plates.
• Troubleshoot and repair AC/DC electrical equipment including batteries, control stations, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, timers and PLC.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair and/or replace pneumatic equipment (air compressors, hoses, coils).
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair and/or replace hydraulic equipment (hoses, fittings, cylinders, pumps).
• Weld equipment such as handrails, conveyor supports, and related components.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections of plant equipment including conveyors and power industrial equipment.

Job Description:

Maintenance Mechanic or Industrial Electrician position supports the package sorting system, including belt conveyors. In our industry this position is also known as Plant Mechanic or Industrial Mechanic. This position is responsible for a broad range of maintenance activities that are performed to keep UPS package handling facilities operating efficiently and effectively. The work can be fast-paced and requires routine interaction with other operations employees.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing and/or replacing mechanical components such as motors, reducers, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and transfer plates
• Troubleshooting, adjusting and replacing AC and DC electrical equipment such as batteries, control stations, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, timers and PLC
• Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing and/or replacing pneumatic equipment such as flow splitters, diverters, air compressors, lubricators, hoses, and coils
• Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing and/or replacing hydraulic equipment such as hoses, fittings, cylinders, and pumps
• Welding equipment such as handrails, conveyor supports, package handling equipment, carts, and grating
• Performing preventive maintenance inspections of plant equipment such as conveyors, bulk carts, and power industrial equipment

Requirements:

• Successful completion of required testing
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to demonstrate mechanical aptitude with strong problem-solving skills
• Proficient in the safe use of common shop tools and equipment
• Experience in performing maintenance on conveyor belts is an asset
• Knowledge of electrical and building schematics is an asset

Compensation And Benefits:

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The starting pay for this position is $40.11 per hour. For union-represented postings, wage rates and ranges and benefit offerings are governed by applicable collective bargaining agreement provisions.

Hired applicants are eligible for weekly pay, extensive training, 401(K), defined-benefit pension plan, medical-dental and vision after waiting and or probation period, $0 healthcare premium, paid vacation, paid sick and family and medical leave time as required by law, paid holidays, discounted employee stock purchase program.
