Job description

Job Overview:

The Industrial Maintenance Technician inspects, repairs, maintains, and assembles all equipment within the plant. This includes Natural Gas and Electric heated Furnaces, Vacuum Furnaces, and ancillary equipment.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Maintain equipment through the execution of the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program.
2. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues causing equipment failures.
3. Prepare and maintain records detailing inspections, observations, and repairs on all equipment.
4. Consult equipment manuals and schematics to efficiently troubleshoot and solve equipment problems.
5. Demonstrate a general understanding of Mechanical and Electrical system principles.
6. Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts, extended boom lifts, scissors lifts, and production equipment.
7. Troubleshoot and repair facility and equipment pneumatic systems.
8. Rebuild or replace cylinders, valves, and hoses.
9. Fabricate simple equipment designs to support operations and repair equipment.
10. Replace electrical motors, motor contactors, fuses, and breakers.
11. Work at heights to service overhead cranes.
12. Work comfortably in dirty and extreme temperature environments.
13. Maintain a safe and organized workstation, following all company policies, safety protocols, and procedures.
14. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Excellent organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
• Knowledge of general mechanical systems and troubleshooting
• Experience with equipment preventative maintenance, monitoring gauges, dials, or indicators
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment failures and perform necessary repairs
• Effective communication of technical information
• Critical thinking skills for problem-solving
• Ability to wear protective and safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, and hearing protection
