Job summary

Oliver Inc. is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic for our manufacturing team on the 2nd shift in Ohio. The role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, rebuilding, and improving presses and other equipment.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on machining, welding, fabrication experience and strong mechanical troubleshooting abilities. This full‑time position requires reliable performance on shift and collaboration with production teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mechanical experience in manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Thorough knowledge of mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment maintenance.
• Hands-on experience with machining, welding, and fabrication.
• Ability to operate a lathe, milling machine, surface grinder, and drill press.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair presses and other manufacturing equipment.
• Work with supervisors and production crews to identify and resolve equipment performance issues.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine the appropriate repair solution.
• Rebuild machines, equipment, and components as needed.
• Research and implement equipment modifications and improvements to increase reliability and reduce equipment failures.
• Communicate with equipment manufacturers and vendors regarding equipment failures, replacement parts, and recommended repairs or improvements.
• Determine whether repairs should be completed in‑house or outsourced.
• Maintain an inventory of mechanical parts and identify suppliers based on availability, quality, and cost.
• Design, machine, weld, and fabricate parts and components for manufacturing equipment.
• Perform various types of welding.
• Operate a lathe, milling machine, surface grinder, drill press, and other machine shop equipment.
• Assist with general facility maintenance as needed, including carpentry and other maintenance‑related tasks.
• Respond to equipment issues and emergencies during assigned shift hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
