Job summary

The Lynchburg mill of Saint-Gobain/CertainTeed in Lynchburg, VA is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join the maintenance team. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment in a 24/7 recycled paperboard facility, supporting production, safety, and quality goals.

You will read blueprints and schematics, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, and collaborate with Operations and Engineering to improve reliability and reduce downtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training, apprenticeship, military experience, or an associate degree preferred.
• Five (5) years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience or equivalent.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial mechanical systems and rotating equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, manuals, and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of lubrication, rigging, and precision measurement techniques.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, install, modify, and maintain mechanical equipment throughout the facility.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to improve equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Diagnose and repair pumps, bearings, conveyors, gearboxes, rotating equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, piping systems, and other equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and specifications.
• Document maintenance activities and complete work orders using SAP or other CMMS systems.
