Company Overview:

Our client is a leader in the deli meats and cheese industry, known for maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency in their production processes. They are currently seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join their team and support the smooth operation of their production facilities.

Position Overview:

The Maintenance Mechanic will specialize in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial machinery and automated systems that are critical to the production of deli meats and cheeses. This role requires strong technical skills in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, and the ability to keep equipment running efficiently to meet production demands. Both 1st and 2nd shift opportunities are available.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Visually inspect machinery and equipment for defects such as breakage or excessive wear.
2. Repair production or processing equipment, with a focus on modern automated systems.
3. Troubleshoot and analyze complex problems, implementing proper remedies safely.
4. Dismantle defective machines and install new or repaired parts as needed.
5. Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other machinery components.
6. Maintain operations of systems such as pneumatic, hydraulic, and ammonia-based equipment.
7. Install and repair electrical apparatus, including transformers, breakers, switches, and electronic components.
8. Perform preventative maintenance and ensure continuous equipment operation.
9. Operate cutting torches or welding equipment as needed.
10. Interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals to diagnose and repair machinery.

Qualifications:

• Experience with Crown/Raymond equipment is preferred, but experience with other brands is also acceptable.
• Knowledge of forklift electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems is a plus.
• Proven ability to use basic mathematical skills in a mechanical environment.
• Willingness to work occasional to frequent overtime.
• Capable of becoming certified to operate material handling equipment.
• Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including hearing protection, hard hats, and steel-toe boots.
