Description

Springfield Plastics, Inc. is growing again! We are currently seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to fill a full-time position. As a mechanic, you will help grow the company by keeping our extruder lines running and operational. We utilize a FIIX program for work orders and inventory management, guiding our daily workload. This position is vital to maintaining the facility's operational excellence.

Primary Responsibilities

• Installation, maintenance, and care for all production-related equipment.
• Setup of all production lines.
• Troubleshooting, setup, and resolving machine problems.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and material handling equipment to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Perform additional maintenance on building systems, electrical, and plumbing.
• Maintain machinery, change parts, and manage spare parts and tools.
• Respond promptly to work order requests.
• Report and repair safety violations or issues.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Skill Requirements

• 2-5 years of industrial maintenance experience preferred; other maintenance experience considered.
• Familiarity with industrial tools and equipment.
• Ability to perform routine repairs.
• Proficiency with hand tools and portable power tools.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Physical ability to handle workload.
• Overhead Crane and Forklift experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to Auburn, IL.
• Ability to work afternoon or overnight shifts, overtime, on-call as needed.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment.
• Repetitive motion tolerance and high-temperature endurance.

• Fabrication Experience
