Job summary

A community college in Peosta seeks an Industrial Maintenance Instructor – adjunct to provide effective instruction and carry out related responsibilities. The instructor will develop and instruct courses in the industrial maintenance technician program.   • Evaluate and report student performance in assigned courses.

Position Title: Industrial Maintenance Instructor – adjunct

Posting Number: F00105

Work Schedule: Hiring based upon semester needed. Contract length based upon class credit hours.

Campus/Center: Peosta

Location: Peosta, IA

Position Summary: Provide effective instruction and carry out assigned related responsibilities.

Qualifications
  • Must possess an AAS degree in Industrial Maintenance (B.A. preferred) and/or 3 years (6000 hours) of recent and relevant work experience.
  • Industrial Maintenance Certifications with specialized electrical, maintenance, heating & cooling and other licensures/certifications for plant operation and maintenance.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, coordinate, and instruct courses in the industrial maintenance technician program as defined by NICC.
  • Conduct and/or coordinate training for all industrial maintenance technical courses.
  • Maintain current course syllabi and provide students current course guides.
  • Evaluate and report student performance and progress in all assigned courses in accordance with NICC policies.
  • Establish workforce partnerships, analyze program training needs, and identify workforce trends.
  • Serve on related community boards and committees and communicate with a program advisory board.
  • Monitor program assessment consistent with NICC’s AQIP strategies.
  • Organize, develop, and deliver curriculum; assess and develop instructional materials.
  • Attend professional development activities and keep abreast of technological advances.
  • Manage program budget within applicable policy.
  • Represent the college professionally to students, staff, faculty, and community.
  • Support a diverse student population and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
