Job summary

Job description

Adjunct Faculty: Industrial Maintenance

We seek part‑time instructors to teach daytime or evening Industrial Maintenance courses during future semesters through HCC’s Career and Technical Education division.

Courses offered include:

  • Industrial & Building Electricity
  • Mechanical Systems
  • Electrical Wiring and Maintenance
  • Fluid Power and Mechanical Systems
  • Mechatronics
  • Programmable Controllers
  • Robotic Systems
General Expectations
  • Evaluate student learning outcomes within established protocols.
  • Prepare syllabi for courses taught consistent with established approvals.
  • Manage student issues and problems in a manner consistent with the Student Handbook.
  • Create a learning environment that fosters student success and attainment of defined learning outcomes on the master syllabus.
  • Demonstrate competence and remain current in the discipline.
  • Use major IT systems necessary for performance of basic job duties including email, grade and required attendance submissions, and learning management systems.
  • Cooperate with Student Success and Enrollment Services staff in advocating for student persistence and completion.
  • Maintain reasonable accessibility to students.
  • Cooperate with college-wide and division instructional goals.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2,000 hours of demonstrated experience in the industrial maintenance field.
  • Relevant industry certifications.
  • Daytime and/or evening on‑campus availability.
Desired Qualifications
  • Post‑secondary degree.
  • Successful teaching experience.

These positions are based in Central Illinois and ability to be present on‑campus/in‑person is required.

Adjunct faculty shall be compensated per Equated Contact Hour (ECH) of instruction. As of time of posting, the compensation rate per ECH for new Adjunct Faculty is $1,011.
