Job summary

UPS is hiring a Buildings and Systems Engineering (BaSE) Mechanic to maintain and optimize a UPS package handling facility. The role requires fast-paced work, routine collaboration with hub staff, and availability for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift in a 24x7 operation.

A strong electrical background and passing an electrical assessment are required. The position involves troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, plus welding and preventive maintenance on

Qualifications

• Must have strong electrical background and be able to troubleshoot electrical equipment.
• Experience with mechanical components and conveyors is desirable.
• Must pass electrical assessment and be able to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift in a 24x7 operation.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, adjust, and replace AC/DC electrical equipment (batteries, control stations, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, timers, servo equipment, photoelectric devices, transducers, VFDs, encoders).
• Inspect, repair, and replace mechanical components (motors, drive chains, belts, bearings, conveyors).
• Inspect, repair pneumatic equipment (diverters, hoses, lubricators) and hydraulic equipment (hoses, fittings, cylinders, pumps).
• Weld equipment as needed for supports and conveyors and perform preventive maintenance inspections.
