Job summary

Yakima Valley School Residential Habilitation Center is seeking a Laundry Worker 2 to join a team operating a large industrial laundry facility at Yakima. You will schedule, coordinate, and complete all phases of laundry activities and washroom operations while adhering to pandemic guidelines and delivering high-quality textiles in a timely, cost-effective manner.

Opportunities for a 5% premium pay apply to on-site work three or more days a week.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience as a Laundry Worker 1, or equivalent, in a large commercial or large industrial laundry.
• Completion of a training course in laundry operations may substitute for three months of the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Processes linen for the entire institution to standard; perform daily decontamination, sorting, washing, drying, folding and packing outgoing orders.
• Operates large commercial washers and dryers.
• Change chemicals as needed.
• Maintain linen room by filing daily linen orders.
• Wear required PPE to ensure safety and follow directions.
• Assist coworkers and students in various laundry tasks.
