The Washington Veterans Home in Port Orchard is hiring a Laundry Worker 1 for a full-time, permanent role. You will provide linen and resident personal laundry services and support infection control and safety policies while working the 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Qualifications

• Basic math calculations required.
• Must be proficient in English.
• Must follow safety policies, procedures, and practices.
• Complete training in laundry operations within six months of employment.
• Agency competency: take action to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

• Operate washing machines, dryers, marking machines, and presses.
• Weigh, sort, and separate all soiled linen daily.
• Clean and disinfect laundry carts daily.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Report problems or malfunctions of laundry equipment to supervisor.
• Dry, hang, fold, and sort personal clothing for distribution.
• Collect, wash, dry, and deliver materials to ancillary departments.
• Assist in training new staff in operating laundry equipment and tasks.
