Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking an experienced Ironworker to layout, install, assemble and weld structural steel components on industrial projects in Abilene, TX. You will work with cranes, rigging, and welding equipment to position and secure steel members per blueprints.

The role requires familiarity with safety protocols, physical stamina, and the ability to work in a dynamic construction environment on site.

Qualifications

Experience as Ironworker in Power Plant/Industrial setting.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions and communicate with supervision.
Proficient use of electrical, hand, power, layout and measurement tools.
Must pass safety and drug tests.

Responsibilities

Reads specifications or blueprints to determine material requirements.
Fabricates metal parts such as steel frames, columns, beams or girders per blueprints.
Unloads and positions prefabricated steel units using cranes or signaling operators.
Verifies vertical and horizontal alignment of structural steel with plumb bobs/lasers.
Cuts, bends or welds steel pieces with torches or welding equipment.
Assembles hoisting equipment or riggings to move heavy materials.
Estimates sizes, distances and quantities for work activities.
Inspects subordinates' work for contract compliance and corrective action.
