Job summary

Saint-Gobain’s Digital Manufacturing Program seeks an I4.0 Software Engineer to accelerate NA manufacturing digital transformation. The role blends software development, automation, systems integration, and DevOps to enhance production, quality, maintenance, and operations.

Key contributions include designing SCADA/MES/Industry 4.0 solutions, building Ignition-based HMIs, integrating PLCs, SAP, and databases, and enabling data exchange across plants.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, developing, and supporting solutions using the Ignition platform.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing systems, industrial automation, and data integration concepts.
• Knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, and cybersecurity best practices.
• Familiarity with DevOps methodologies, Agile principles, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Working knowledge of cloud technologies, open-source tools, and modern software development practices.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, and supporting SCADA, MES, and Industry 4.0 solutions.
• Building scalable applications and user-friendly HMI interfaces using Ignition.
• Integrating manufacturing systems with PLCs, SAP, databases, and devices for data exchange.
• Writing scripts, SQL queries, and automation logic for enterprise processes.
• Providing production support and incident resolution for system stability.
• Implementing CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, monitoring, and improvements.
• Developing automation strategies and scalable integration frameworks for multiple sites.
• Maintaining performance, cybersecurity, documentation, and version control standards.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize processes.
