Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking an Instrument Technician to install, test, calibrate, troubleshoot, overhaul and repair instrumentation and control devices. The role requires reading schematics, calibrating equipment, and understanding PLCs while ensuring safety and compliance.

Candidates should have 2+ years of Journeyman level experience and hold NCCER/TDLR certification with a valid TWIC and Driver's License.

Qualifications

• Education: no minimum education required.
• Experience: 2+ years journeyman level.
• Certification/License: NCCER, TDLR, a valid TWIC card and Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Layout, fabricate and install tubing and tub trays.
• Apply knowledge of mathematics to instrumentation, such as ratios and conversions.
• Read blueprints, schematics and loop drawings and prepare job reports.
• Assemble and disassemble electronic process controls, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Calibrate equipment using common procedures and read/interpret procedures.
• Understand pH and redox and control liquids' properties.
• Work with Ohm’s Law and Kirchhoff’s Law and with electronic components.
• Troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using proper test equipment.
