Job summary

Swvam in Saltville, VA is seeking a skilled Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems across production sites. The role covers equipment, buildings, and plant infrastructure, with on-site duties on a rotating call-out basis.

Responsibilities include repairing and upgrading electrical/instrumentation, preparing parts orders, maintaining preventive maintenance records, and ensuring SQF/safety standards.

Qualifications

• College or Associate’s Degree preferred, but not required.
• Master Electrical license preferred.
• Industry experience in electrical, instrumentation, and PLC work is valued.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots the electrical and instrumentation of equipment and buildings throughout the Saltville sites.
• Performs Electrical and instrumentation of new equipment or upgrades to existing equipment.
• Prepares orders for spare or replacement parts and inventories spare parts.
• Maintains work areas in a clean and safe manner and maintains housekeeping.
• Performs routine and preventative maintenance on equipment and instrumentation.
• Prepares and maintains Preventive Maintenance records and checklists; may handle permits as needed.
• Performs PLC work and troubleshooting.
• Supports Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards and safety procedures.
