Job summary

LANXESS in Charleston, SC is seeking a skilled electrical and controls technician to support the industrial power systems, instrumentation and PLCs. The role covers medium voltage transmission, preventive maintenance and repairs in a daylight schedule with overtime and occasional weekend work.

You will troubleshoot equipment, read loop sheets and one-line diagrams, quote and purchase replacement parts, and use SAP in a computerized maintenance management system.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Five years of experience in industry.
• Proficient with medium voltage, field instrumentation and PLCs.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
• Proficient in SAP CMMS and reading equipment drawings (loop sheets, one line diagrams, P&IDs).
• Strong communication skills and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair industrial electrical and control systems, including medium voltage equipment.
• Work with field instrumentation and PLCs to ensure optimal operation.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment, document work in SAP CMMS.
• Read and interpret loop sheets, one line diagrams and P&ID drawings.
• Quote and purchase replacement parts as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to complete tasks on schedule.
