IMMEDIATELY HIRING! FULL-TIME Opportunity

Salary: $18.05 hourly / $60,070.00 annual

Work Hours: 24-hour shifts working A-B-C schedule

We are hiring Firefighter/EMT’s with a passion for firefighting and patient care, combined with the drive to succeed and deliver high-quality care.

Job Summary:
Under direct supervision, the Firefighter/EMT trains for and participates in duties and responsibilities related to emergency and hazardous situations in fire suppression and emergency operations at an industrial facility. Operates within the client’s policies, procedures, and practices, with emphasis on the Occupational Safety and Health Program, to participate in emergency response and training services to fulfill the mission of Rural Metro Fire. The role involves firefighting, rescue work, drills, studying methods, and routine duties in maintaining property and equipment.

This is a safety-sensitive position and is subject to the Company’s and the Client’s Industrial Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy, including pre-employment, post-accident, random, reasonable suspicion, return-to-duty, and follow-up testing.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform safety work tasks such as hot work permitting, fresh air permitting, confined space entry permitting, and other safety-related tasks.
  • Respond to fires promptly and safely, controlling fires through hose and nozzle work, hand tools, or a combination of methods.
  • Follow established procedures during emergencies and adhere to instructions at the scene.
  • Use all relevant apparatus, tools, and equipment correctly and promptly.
  • Remain calm and poised during emergencies, gaining rapid control over situations.
  • Administer first aid appropriate to training level.
  • Analyze situations threatening life safety and apply correct treatments.
  • Operate vehicles and equipment safely as directed.
  • Assist in maintaining fire and rescue apparatus, tools, and equipment, performing maintenance and testing as needed.
  • Keep the base and related grounds, facilities, and supplies clean and organized.
  • Perform non-firefighting tasks such as record-keeping, timecard management, and paperwork.
  • Work effectively as part of a team at emergency and non-emergency scenes, accepting shared responsibilities.
  • Meet physical requirements for firefighting tasks.
  • Stay skilled in modern fire suppression tactics through training and drills.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and image to meet client needs.
  • Follow policies and procedures effectively.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Class B Non-CDL license (State of Illinois)
  • IL EMT-Basic certification
  • CPR/AED certification
  • IL OSFM Basic Operations Firefighter (BOF) or Fire II (FF II)
  • IL OSFM Hazmat Operations (if FF II)
  • IL OSFM Rope Operations (within 12 months of hire)
