Job summary

Amada America, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support customers with Amada Press Brakes and related machinery in Oshkosh, WI and surrounding areas. You will install, service, train, and program equipment, with frequent travel to customer sites.

The role requires strong troubleshooting across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and control systems. A HS diploma is required; electronics degree or related experience is a plus, with English proficiency mandatory.

Qualifications

• Requires HS Diploma or equivalent; electronics degree (4 yr) or 2-yr with related work experience is a plus.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and control systems.
• Willingness to travel within assigned territories and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Proficient in trouble shooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, control systems and networks.
• Follow layout drawings and blueprints for equipment installation and service.
• Complete daily service reports and weekly expense reports.
• Communicate effectively in English with customers.
• Manage whole equipment installation processes at customer sites.
• Operate, apply software, and train customers on equipment and line control software.
• Travel regularly within assigned territories.
• Lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted.

Description

To support customers with (but not limited to) Amada Press Brakes. This includes installation, service, operational training, networking, programming training, software training, application training, and bending automation training. The duties are not exclusive of performing the same functions for Punch Press, Shears and other general fabricating machines, including automated material loading/unloading machines. This position encompasses Oshkosh, WI and surrounding areas.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Proficient in trouble shooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, control systems as well as networks.
• Able to precisely follow layout drawings and blueprints used in the installation of equipment.
• Complete status (service) reports on a daily basis and expense reports on a weekly basis.
• The ability to communicate in the English language.
• Excellent customer relations and follow through.
• Managing the total equipment installation process at Customer site entailing use of hand tools, climbing, bending, stooping.
• Operation, applications, software, and part programming capabilities, and customer training of such.
• Use of Amada applications software used in line control and part programming.
• Regular travel within assigned territories.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• The ability to communicate in the Spanish language is a plus.

PAY RATE

• $30.00 per hour

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

• Reports to Regional Service Manager

KNOWLEDGE

• HS Diploma or equivalent is a must. A 4 yr degree in Electronics or a minimum of a 2 yr degree with related work experience is a plus.

SKILLS

• Ability to analyze and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, optical and electrical systems.
• Ability to use hand tools, Volt/Ohm meter and Oscilloscope.
• Working knowledge of computers and Windows OS.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Being accountable and responsible to service and support a customer through all aspects of the customer's ownership of the machine.

TRAVEL

• Routine travel within assigned territories with occasional overnight stays.
