Job summary

Amada America, Inc. is seeking a field service technician to support installation, service, and training for Amada press brakes and related machines in Nashville and surrounding areas.

You will perform programming, software training, and line control applications, while ensuring customer satisfaction and accurate reporting. The role requires travel, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and strong mechanical/electrical troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications

• Must have HS Diploma or equivalent; a 4-year Electronics degree is a plus.
• Willingness to travel within assigned territories for installations and service.
• Experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and train customers on Amada press brakes and related equipment.
• Provide programming and operating training for Amada software and line control.
• Deliver on-site software training and bending automation training at customer sites.
• Prepare daily service reports and weekly expense reports.
• Maintain safety and quality during equipment installation at customer sites.
• Travel within assigned territories and lift up to 50 pounds as required.

Job description

To support customers with (but not limited to) Amada Press Brakes. This includes installation, service, operational training, networking, programming training, software training, application training, and bending automation training. The duties are not exclusive of performing the same functions for Punch Press, Shears and other general fabricating machines, including automated material loading/unloading machines. This position encompasses Nashville, TN and surrounding areas.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Proficient in trouble shooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, control systems as well as networks.
• Able to precisely follow layout drawings and blueprints used in the installation of equipment.
• Complete status (service) reports on a daily basis and expense reports on a weekly basis.
• The ability to communicate in the English language.
• Excellent customer relations and follow through.
• Managing the total equipment installation process at Customer site entailing use of hand tools, climbing, bending, stooping.
• Operation, applications, software, and part programming capabilities, and customer training of such.
• Use of Amada applications software used in line control and part programming.
• Regular travel within assigned territories.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• The ability to communicate in the Spanish language is a plus.

PAY RATE

• $30.00 per hour

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

• Reports to Regional Service Manager

KNOWLEDGE

• HS Diploma or equivalent is a must. A 4 yr degree in Electronics or a minimum of a 2 yr degree with related work experience is a plus.

SKILLS

• Ability to analyze and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, optical and electrical systems.
• Ability to use hand tools, Volt/Ohm meter and Oscilloscope.
• Working knowledge of computers and Windows OS.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Being accountable and responsible to service and support a customer through all aspects of the customer's ownership of the machine.

TRAVEL

• Routine travel within assigned territories with occasional overnight stays.
