Job summary

Amada America, Inc. is seeking a field service professional to install, service, and train customers on Amada laser equipment. The role includes programming, software training, and laser automation applications, with work on punch presses and stack machines as needed.

You will travel within the St. Louis, MO region, play a key role in customer relations, and handle status reports and on-site installations. A high school diploma is required; machining or mechanical training is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be able to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and control systems.
• Ability to read and follow layout drawings and blueprints for installation.
• Experience with electrical testing tools and basic electrical documentation.
• Strong customer communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support customers with installation, service, training, and software applications for Amada lasers.
• Perform operation, troubleshooting and programming training as needed.
• Complete service reports daily and expense reports weekly.
• Travel within the territory and communicate in English with customers.

Job description

Description

To support customers with (but not limited to) Amada Lasers. This includes installation, service, operational training, networking, programming training, software training, application training, and laser automation training. The duties are not exclusive of performing the same functions for Punch Press and combination machines, including automated material loading/unloading machines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Proficient in trouble shooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, control systems as well as networks.


• Able to precisely follow layout drawings and blueprints used in the installation of equipment.


• Complete status (service) reports on a daily basis and expense reports on a weekly basis.


• The ability to communicate in the English language.


• Excellent customer relations and follow through.


• Managing the total equipment installation process at Customer site entailing use of hand tools, climbing, bending, stooping.


• Operation, applications, software, and part programming capabilities, and customer training of such.


• Use of Amada applications software used in line control and part programming.


• Regular travel within assigned territories.


• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• The ability to communicate in the Spanish language is a plus.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

• Reports to Area Service Manager

SUBORDINATE STAFF:

• None

EDUCATION:

• A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Any machining or mechanical trade degree or military experience is a plus.

SKILLS:

• Ability to analyze and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, optical and electrical systems.


• Ability to use hand tools, Volt/Ohm meter and Oscilloscope.


• Working knowledge of computers and Windows OS.


• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.


• Being accountable and responsible to service and support a customer through all aspects of the customer's ownership of the machine.

TRAVEL:

• Routine travel within assigned territories with occasional overnight stays.


• Territory will be St. Louis, MO and surrounding areas.

PAY RATE:

• $30.00 per hour but can be negotiable with relevant industry experience.
