Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, maintain and repair industrial equipment for clients in Kimberley and surrounding areas. You will blend on-site visits with remote diagnostics, ensuring minimal downtime and high client satisfaction.

The role requires a mechanical/electrical background, at least four years in field service, strong problem-solving, and excellent communication to train customers and document service actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a field service engineering or technician role, preferably in an industrial setting
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting complex machinery issues
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
• Willingness to travel within the Kimberley region and surrounding areas as required for this hybrid role
• Experience with remote diagnostic tools is a plus

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair industrial machinery and equipment at client sites
• Perform preventative maintenance and diagnostic procedures to ensure optimal equipment performance
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues
• Provide technical guidance and training to clients on equipment operation and maintenance
• Document all service activities, including work performed, parts used, and recommendations
• Manage service inventory and maintain service vehicle
• Liaise with the engineering and sales departments to relay client feedback and identify opportunities
• Respond to emergency service calls promptly and efficiently
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures while on client premises
