Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician to join our client, a leading manufacturer of industrial machinery, based in Randburg, Gauteng. You will travel to client sites to install, maintain and repair complex equipment, ensuring peak performance and minimal downtime.

The role requires strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting, the ability to read engineering drawings, and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Field Service Technician or similar role, focusing on industrial machinery.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and manuals.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and specialized tools for industrial repair.
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting is highly advantageous.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the region and occasionally beyond.
• Must be self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site installation, commissioning, and setup of industrial machinery according to technical specifications and client requirements.
• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections to ensure optimal equipment operation and longevity.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using advanced diagnostic tools.
• Perform timely repairs, replacing faulty components and ensuring quality standards.
