Job summary

Kiewit Industrial and Water Engineering (KIWE) in Lenexa, Kansas is seeking an Industrial Estimator to develop detailed cost estimates for large-scale industrial projects. The role collaborates with engineering, procurement, construction and start-up teams to translate client scopes into comprehensive estimates while applying historical rates and industry benchmarks.

Responsibilities include reviewing contract documents, preparing notes for unique items, leading estimate reviews and mentoring

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in construction-related technology or engineering.
• Experience bidding industrial projects is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail with ability to identify discrepancies.
• Proficient in MS Office and able to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop complete estimates for large, complex industrial projects.
• Review drawings/contract documents to understand construction needs.
• Lead estimate review presentations and mentor junior staff.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement and construction teams to ensure accuracy.
• Identify deviations from industry norms and provide cost-effective alternatives.
