Job summary

Kiewit Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Equipment Estimator in Lenexa, KS. This full-time role focuses on preparing and presenting estimates for large power projects, including manhour and cost analysis, coordinating with other estimators, and pricing for construction support services.

You will review RFPs, develop bid packages, and mentor junior estimators as part of a collaborative estimating team across North America. Relocation support is available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in mechanical, electrical, civil or construction-related technology OR extensive and related work experience.
• 1+ years of related construction, field, or office experience.
• Experience with complex EPC or bid/build projects, especially mechanical equipment scope.
• Strong ability to read blueprints and P&ID drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail, communication, and leadership skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel; capable of creating and maintaining complex spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Support development of complete mechanical equipment estimates for large power projects across North America.
• Determine installation quantities based on drawings, specs, and past equipment layouts.
• Develop and review bid packages for subcontractors and suppliers.
• Create crane plans and select construction equipment for installation.
