Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking an Industrial Engineering Intern to join our team in Devens and Somerville, MA. Interns are placed into meaningful, challenging roles with opportunities for hands-on process improvement work within a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

We want students pursuing an engineering degree (IE/EM/Mfg/Ops) with lean/CI exposure, data analysis能力, and skills like AutoCAD and Google Suite. On-site, 40–50 hours/week, hourly rates vary by year in school.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an engineering degree with focus in Industrial Engineering, Engineering Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or Operations Management.
• Prior internship in Industrial Engineering field and lean/continuous improvement experience.
• Data analysis, process mapping, and AutoCAD skills.

Responsibilities

• Support process improvement initiatives across production areas.
• Conduct time studies, data collection, and process analysis to identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce waste.
• Assist with production floor layouts, material flow, and workspace optimization.
