Job summary

Oshkosh Corporation's McNeilus division seeks an Industrial Engineering Intern to assist the Manufacturing Engineering department in achieving manufacturing goals and supporting continuous improvement.

You will audit work instructions, help optimize material handling, and learn to apply Lean tools to real-time production challenges while gaining hands-on exposure to ERP systems and CAD tools.

Qualifications

  • Student working toward a Bachelor’s degree for entire duration of internship.
  • GPA of 3.0 or greater preferred.
  • Experience in welding, machining, or fabrication.
  • Exposure to cell or work center layout and CAD tools.

Responsibilities

  • Audit and update work instructions, routings, and bills of materials.
  • Improve material handling methods.
  • Learn to solve real time operations problems using Lean tools.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement Journey.
  • Develop methods in fabrication and machining processes.
  • Perform workstation/cell analyses to improve productivity and quality.
  • Provide input for manufacturing fixtures and tooling.
  • Assist with plant layout and workstation design.
  • Learn and use ERP manufacturing software.
  • Create documentation for new product launches.
