Job summary

Oshkosh Corporation invites undergraduates to join Pierce Manufacturing as a Materials Intern. You will assist the Materials department, analyzing data from ERP and other sources to improve material flow and reduce landed costs. You’ll contribute to PFEP-driven improvements and support lean initiatives across facilities.

The role emphasizes data-driven decision support, process enhancements, and participation in continuous improvement activities within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Student working towards a Bachelor's degree for entire duration of internship.
• GPA of 3.0 or greater.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Compile data from ERP systems, spreadsheets, and other sources to support decision-making in conjunction with the Plan for Every Part process.
• Reduce excess material handling inside facilities, between facilities and to and from local suppliers through value stream analysis and PFEP principles.
• Support standardization, advancement and implementation of a lean enterprise material flow strategy.
• Work with the Materials and Operations department to introduce, promote, and implement lean manufacturing techniques to reduce cost and improve efficiency.
• Run and compile various reports as well as run various data analytics to understand the data.
• Assist in Continuous Improvement techniques including Continuous Improvement events and 5S.
