Job summary

RTX offers an Industrial Engineering internship program focused on exposing students to high-technology aviation manufacturing. You will work on data-driven improvements across manufacturing disciplines including coating, welding, forging, and machining, with development presented to managers as you progress to a potential full-time role.

Available locations include East Hartford and other sites; relocation eligibility may apply, and benefits programs are described.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program in Industrial and System Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred; knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes is a plus.
• Data mining/manipulation experience with Excel, VBA or SQL is desirable.

The Industrial Engineering Internship Program is targeted at college engineering students designed to expose you to the high technology, fast-paced world of aviation manufacturing with challenging assignments in the many disciplines of Manufacturing which include part manufacturing, assembly, and specialties such as Coating, Welding, Forging, and Machining. Development occurs with Pratt & Whitney Industrial Engineering training, data collection and improvement projects as well day to day assignments. At the conclusion of the internship, students will be presenting their results to high level managers and executives as part of their progression development in becoming a full-time Industrial Engineer. Available internship positions are in the following locations East Hartford or Middletown CT, North Berwick ME, Asheville NC, Columbus GA, and Lansing MI.

What You Will Do

• Evaluate operations and identify improvement opportunities, utilizing data analysis and metrics.
• Review and analyze work cell layout, process flow, material flow, to establish standard work.
• Conduct labor and machine capacity analysis to identify improvements.
• Maintain and update time standards for established operations.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Must be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program at the time of the assignment. Eligible majors include Industrial and System Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Data mining & manipulation experience with Excel, VBA, SQL, other methods.
• Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.

• Relocation Eligibility

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
