Job summary

Acara Solutions in Richmond, VA, is seeking an Industrial Engineer to design, implement, and improve value stream production cells on the manufacturing floor. You will work closely with operators, supervisors, and the Production Manager to drive continuous improvement.

The role requires 3+ years of experience with 2D CAD for layout development, a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, and strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering and strong fundamentals in IE concepts.
• 3+ years of experience with 2D CAD software for layout development.

Responsibilities

• Measure labor content to create standard staffing plans and production processes.
• Develop and install mixed model line balances to meet customer demand.
• Collaborate with operators and leadership to design value stream layouts in production space.
• Lead 5S exercises to improve organization and reduce operator frustration.
• Develop training content with the training manager to maintain standard processes.
• Investigate and implement continuous improvement opportunities and ideas.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency or quality through fixturing opportunities with manufacturing engineers.
• Create production metrics with operators to encourage self-measurement and engagement.
