Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking an Industrial Engineer to lead strategic material system design projects aimed at improving material flow, reducing waste, and increasing manufacturing efficiency. The role requires strong technical expertise in materials systems and hands-on leadership for continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities include designing floor layouts, optimizing material routes, and leading Kanban and PFEP initiatives, while driving cross-functional problem solving for impactful change.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited university.
• 3-4 years of experience in Industrial Engineering.
• High school diploma/GED with at least 6 years of Industrial Engineering experience is also acceptable.
• Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain floor layouts & market designs for efficient material flow.
• Plan and execute expansion projects to improve space utilization & line delivery.
• Design and optimize material delivery routes and evaluate automation opportunities (AGV, AMR).
• Lead material presentation modeling & design for line-side racks and transport devices.
• Own Kanban & PFEP standards and processes for areas of responsibility.
• Develop SOPs for hand-offs between warehouse, kitting and production.
• Design and document Standard Work for all key materials processes.
• Lead CI projects to reduce waste, labor, and space requirements.
• Act as project charter owner and develop milestones for on-time delivery.
• Track and report KPIs like travel time, labor productivity, space utilization.
• Provide engineering analysis to justify capacity investment and ROI.
• Facilitate cross-function problem-solving and drive change-management.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field

3-4 years of experience in Industrial Engineering

Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
