Job summary

Itron, Inc. is seeking an Industrial Engineer to develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing methods for parts, subassemblies, and finished products.

You will partner with Manufacturing Engineering and cross-functional teams to support NPI, improve performance, establish labor standards, and drive continuous improvement across safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.
• 1+ year of relevant industrial or manufacturing engineering experience.
• Lean manufacturing and continuous-improvement methods (5S, kaizen, Gemba).
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, project-planning, and organizational skills.
• Collaborative work across Engineering, Operations, Quality and other functions.

Responsibilities

• Develop, establish, and maintain process cycle times, labor standards, work routings and process times across manufacturing departments.
• Perform time studies and analyze processes to establish accurate time standards and improve productivity.
• Coordinate new product introductions (NPI) with cross-functional teams for product releases.
• Estimate manufacturing costs and recommend tooling, equipment, staffing, and process requirements.
• Review production lines to optimize operator, equipment, and floor space usage.
• Lead LEAN continuous-improvement activities including kaizen events and 5S initiatives.
• Maintain and update plant master layout as equipment is added or moved.
• Create and maintain work instructions, process flow charts, and related documentation.
• Develop project timelines and budgets for manufacturing engineering activities.
• Identify cost-reduction and productivity-improvement opportunities.
