Job summary

Itron is seeking an Industrial Engineer to design and optimize manufacturing methods for its energy and water solutions. You will establish labor standards, conduct time studies, and collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to support NPI and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
• 1+ year of relevant industrial or manufacturing engineering experience.
• Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing and continuous-improvement principles (5S, kaizen, Gemba, time studies, process-flow analysis).
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, project planning, and organizational skills.
• Ability to collaborate across Engineering, Operations, Quality and other functions while owning commitments.

Responsibilities

• Develop, establish, and maintain process cycle times, labor standards, work routings, and process times across manufacturing departments.
• Perform time studies and analyze processes to establish accurate time standards and identify productivity improvements.
• Coordinate new product releases through the NPI process with cross-functional teams.
• Estimate manufacturing costs and advise on tooling, equipment, staffing, and process needs for new and existing product lines.
• Review production lines to optimize operator use, equipment, and floor space using standard work and other IE methods.
• Identify and resolve throughput bottlenecks and capacity limits to improve flow.
• Lead LEAN continuous-improvement activities (kaizen, Gemba, 5S) and manufacturing excellence assessments.
• Maintain and update the plant layout as equipment and lines change.
• Create and maintain work instructions, process flow charts, and procedures.
• Manage project timelines and budgets for manufacturing engineering activities.
• Develop and maintain project timelines for new and existing manufacturing programs; adapt plans to evolving requirements.
• Identify and execute factory cost-reduction and productivity-improvement projects.
• Implement innovative processes to improve SQDC performance for customer value.
• Maintain manufacturing records and reporting systems to coordinate operations.
• Collaborate across Operations, Engineering, Quality to address issues and implement solutions.
• Support a culture of data-driven problem solving to improve performance and responsiveness.
• May supervise a co-op student.
