Job summary

Cosma International in Clinton, TN seeks an experienced manufacturing professional to lead Lean initiatives on the shop floor. You will ensure quality per TS16949 & ISO14001, drive process improvements, and support Mafact standards while coordinating with engineering and production teams.

You will train staff, optimize layouts, and monitor KPIs like scrap and efficiency. The role involves safety compliance, shift coordination, and hands-on involvement on the plant floor.

Qualifications

• Industrial Engineering degree preferred (4 year B.S. university or college).
• 2-5 years experience manufacturing operations, supervisory and/or related technical experience helpful.
• Experience in metal stamping; tooling; assembly; resistance and mig welding; safety.
• Strong organizational, planning, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality and conformance to customer specifications per control plans utilizing TS16949 & ISO14001 documented systems; authority to stop non-conforming processes and report same to supervisor, Quality Assurance and/or Engineering department representative.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing methods & principles.
• Help Eagle Bend achieve cost-saving goals in alignment with business plan.
• Train fellow team members in applying Lean Manufacturing concepts.
• Coordinate process improvements for existing operations.
• Support development and compliance of Mafact (Magna Factory Concept) standards which help Eagle Bend to be a leader in World Class Manufacturing.
• Record and monitor results of process improvement effects on efficiency, scrap, and other indicators.
• Assist in development and implementation of Work Standardization techniques.
• Optimize work cell layouts using material flow logic while incorporating operator ergonomics.
• Participate in plant layout review for optimum efficiency and reduction of waste.
• Support engineering personnel with new program development, utilizing the Cosma Program Management Process (CPMP) and Advance Quality Planning Process (APQP).
• Seek cost reduction opportunities and workplace safety enhancements.
• Develop & improve reporting systems.
• Help guide Continuous Improvement Coordinator & CI team members.
• Housekeeping & other duties as assigned by manager.
