Job summary

The Industrial Engineer analyzes, designs, and improves processes and systems to enhance efficiency, productivity, and performance across TACOM operations. This role focuses on optimizing workflows, reducing waste, improving cycle times, and supporting data driven decision making.

The qualified candidate will evaluate resource utilization, labor distribution, and production schedules to monitor program activity and recommend improvements. A U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, engineering, or related field.
• Typically 2–5 years of experience in industrial engineering or process improvement.
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma methods.
• Experience with data analysis, time studies, and workflow assessments.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel).
• Ability to work in a structured, compliance-driven environment.
• Ability to obtain/maintain U.S. Government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze current processes, workflows, and operations to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
• Develop and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
• Conduct time studies, process mapping, and workflow analysis.
• Support planning, scheduling, and coordination of maintenance and logistics activities using data analytics and performance metrics.
• Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, Six Sigma, or process optimization efforts.
• Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and operations personnel to implement solutions.
• Assist with facility layout, workflow design, and space utilization planning.
• Ensure compliance with Army Technical Manuals (TMs), safety standards, and contractual requirements.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and analysis for program leadership.
• Support audits, inspections, and government reviews.
