Job summary

Loos & Co, Inc. in Pomfret, CT, is seeking an Industrial Engineer to develop and maintain labor and process standards for the manufacturing plant. You’ll collaborate with cost accounting, validate routings and costs, and help drive accurate standard costs and capacity planning.

You will conduct time studies, map processes, support quoting, and work cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and IT to implement data-driven improvements that reduce waste and improve cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or closely related field.
• 3+ years of industrial engineering in manufacturing with time studies.
• Experience evaluating routings, BOMs, cycle times, setup times, yields, and throughput.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct time studies and establish standard times with documented methods.
• Vet material, labor, machine, and overhead assumptions with cost accounting.
• Trace estimates through ERP/MRP, routing, BOM, and costing processes.
• Validate bills of material, routings, work centers, and production data.
• Reconcile standard costs with actual labor and machine hours and scrap.
• Develop labor standards, value-stream maps, and standard-work documentation.
• Support cost-estimating and quoting with verified cycle times and capacity.
• Analyze processes to identify bottlenecks and non-value-added work.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement master-data changes.
• Create audit trails and assist with standard-cost updates and reviews.
