Job summary
Legrand, West Hartford, CT, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes for existing and new products, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets.
You will work cross-functionally to optimize line balance, tooling, and fixtures, analyze flows, and support new product introductions with DFM insights.
The role emphasizes continuous improvement, lean principles, documentation, and training across maintenance, operations, and assembly teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
- 1+ year of manufacturing engineering experience preferred.
- Experience with CAD software (2D/3D) is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and implement manufacturing methods and processes (line balancing, assembly flows, process flows).
- Improve efficiency by analyzing workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods and establishing standards.
- Evaluate processes by researching, designing, modifying, and testing methods and equipment.
- Review new product designs for manufacturability and support NPI initiatives.
- Develop tooling and fixtures for manufacturing processes and assembly operations.
- Monitor and troubleshoot production issues with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Prepare process reports and create maintenance/work instructions.
