Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT seeks an Industrial Engineer to support Lean manufacturing initiatives across Columbia construction. You will design Work Centers, partner with Operations and Ship’s Management, and drive improvements that reduce cycle times and costs.

You will lead cross-functional teams, develop repeatable processes, and mentor staff while pursuing DoD compliance and safe, efficient production in a matrix organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or completion expected May 2027.
• 0-5 years of experience in manufacturing, production environment or construction site.
• Advanced proficiency with MS Office, specifically Excel.
• Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Design Build, Operations and Ship’s Management to optimize the build plan and determine essentials for Work Centers.
• Facilitate creation of Work Center playbooks with applicable Trades and Operations Leadership.
• Partner with Detail Planning and Advance Planning for refinement of work scopes at key levels.
• Socialize with multiple organizations during Work Center design and development.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement at Electric Boat.
• Support Work Center execution to ensure on-time and on-cost completion.
