Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking an Industrial Engineer II to support the Effectors portfolio of factories, maximizing throughput and efficiency for defense programs. You will model operations, analyze labor and capacity, and drive continuous improvement using Lean and Six Sigma principles.

Responsibilities include infrastructure planning, roadmaps, and cross-functional project execution to enhance cost, quality, and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in STEM and a minimum of 2 years of experience (or Master’s).
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial/Systems/Manufacturing Engineering or similar.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Capacity Modeling, Facility Design, or Process Optimization.
• Ability to obtain Interim Secret clearance prior to start date and maintain ATF clearance.

Responsibilities

• Model factory operations with process flows, value stream maps, pareto charts, spaghetti diagrams and CAD drawings.
• Calculate resource utilization and identify throughput constraints.
• Apply Lean and Six Sigma principles to reduce defects, improve efficiency, and meet cost/quality/schedule targets.
• Draft infrastructure improvements and plan integration of new products and equipment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute projects addressing obsolescence and performance.
• Support new production contracts and product integration efforts.
• Improve factory safety and ergonomics.
