Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Engineer in Upington, SA, with a strong focus on ergonomics and safety to improve workplace design and efficiency. You will assess workflows, reduce MSD risks, and help implement robust safety management systems across operations.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Industrial Engineering or related field, at least 4 years of experience in ergonomics and safety, and solid ability to train staff and communicate safety practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years in industrial engineering with focus on ergonomics and safety.
• Experience in conducting ergonomic assessments and implementing solutions.
• Knowledge of SA OHS Act and safety standards and regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Effective communication and training capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ergonomic assessments of workstations, tasks and processes.
• Develop ergonomic interventions and process modifications.
• Analyze accident data to identify trends and implement preventative measures.
• Design safety programs and procedures in line with OHS Act requirements.
• Conduct safety training and awareness programs for all employees.
• Collaborate with HR, operations and management to ensure a safe working environment.
• Evaluate safety implications of new equipment, processes and facility designs.
• Stay current with best practices and regulatory changes in ergonomics and industrial safety.
• Assist in integrating safety and ergonomics into efficiency improvements.
• Maintain safety records and risk assessments.
