Job summary

Busch Vacuum Solutions is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to join our Regional Distribution Center team in Chesapeake, Virginia. This fully onsite role focuses on process optimization, facility layout, capacity analysis, and data-driven decision making to improve productivity and reduce costs.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree and 4+ years in manufacturing/production control, proficiency with Excel, ERP like SAP, and data tools (Power BI/Tableau).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing production control environment utilizing a modern ERP system.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; SAP experience preferred.
• Experience with data analysis tools such as Excel, R/Python, Power BI, and Tableau; SPC/Minitab preferred.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• CAD experience (SolidWorks) preferred.
• Knowledge of capacity analysis techniques and discrete event simulation software such as Simul8, Arena, Matlab, or SimPy preferred.
• ERP familiarity with SAP or INFOR; Microsoft Project/JIRA experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct statistical data analysis to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement using Excel, Python/R, Tableau/PowerBI and ERP systems.
• Apply Time Studies, Value Stream Mapping, and SPC to analyze current processes and identify efficiency gains.
• Develop and implement workflows and layouts using Kanban, Kaizen, and 5S principles.
• Establish robust quality control procedures with Six Sigma, FMEA, and RCA.
• Optimize warehouse operations with supply chain collaboration and inventory management.
• Build and update capacity models from data for planning.
• Use discrete event simulation to model complex systems and optimize throughput.
• Perform ROI analyses and prepare reports for management decisions.
• Manage projects with MS Project/JIRA and lead Lean initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve operational goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
